Ghee and Cooking Oil Prices Reduced by Rs 50 in Pakistan!

In a bid to alleviate the impact of rising inflation in Pakistan, Utility Stores announced a significant reduction in prices for branded ghee and cooking oil across all outlets. According to the latest report from the country’s statistics bureau, inflation continued to rise on a year-on-year basis in the first week of December 2023.

Utility Stores spokesperson revealed that the price of branded ghee has been lowered to Rs 482 per kg, down from the previous rate of Rs 500. Simultaneously, the price of cooking oil witnessed a notable drop, with a reduction of up to Rs 50 per kg. The spokesperson emphasized that this reduction applies to all top brands, making popular cooking oil available at a more affordable Rs 470 per liter, down from Rs 520 per liter.

Moreover, another brand of cooking oil experienced a significant price decrease of Rs 37, now priced at Rs 518 per liter compared to its earlier rate of Rs 555 per liter. The adjusted prices have been implemented across all Utility Stores outlets.

Highlighting the government’s commitment to easing the financial burden on citizens, the Utility Stores Corporation (USC) spokesperson mentioned that further reductions are being explored for various other commodities. This move aims to provide relief to consumers grappling with the challenges posed by the ongoing inflationary pressures.
