Ghora Chowk Flyover Now Operational in Lahore

Punjab Chief Minister, Mohsin Naqvi, unveiled the Captain Karnal Sher Khan Shaheed Flyover, a remarkable infrastructure initiative stretching over 742 meters with three lanes.

The inauguration ceremony, graced by cabinet members and Corps Commander Lahore Lt. Gen. Syed Aamer Raza, celebrated the public opening of the flyover, achieved in an impressive 90 days, surpassing the initial estimate of 150 days. During the event, CM Naqvi took the wheel, accompanied by Corps Commander Lt. Gen. Syed Aamer Raza, embarking on a tour of the newly opened flyover.

Commending the exceptional construction standards of this mega project, the CM highlighted its significance as the latest addition to a signal-free corridor from Barkat Market in Garden Town to Defence Morr in Walton. The completed flyover now promises reduced travel time from DHA Phase-VI to Liberty within 15 minutes, while access to Walton Road can be achieved in just five minutes.

In his address at the ceremony, CM Naqvi extended congratulations to the citizens of Lahore for the record-breaking completion of the flyover. He emphasized that the project, facilitating the movement of 2 lakh vehicles daily, was a collaborative effort. Acknowledging the relentless work of NLC and NESPAK, the CM praised the round-the-clock efforts of ministers and secretaries who continuously monitored the project. Notably, the land, initially owned by the Pak Army, underwent swift processing, converting weeks of work into days and providing substantial benefits to neighboring localities.

Looking ahead, CM Naqvi announced the anticipated completion of the Walton Road project by January 31, offering significant relief to the public. He emphasized the installation of a new drainage system, backed by Rs. 9 billion, aimed at preventing water accumulation on roads. Expressing gratitude to Corps Commander Lt. Gen. Syed Aamer Raza for unwavering support, the CM highlighted the completion of the project ahead of schedule as a testament to tremendous hard work.

In a concluding note, CM Naqvi shared plans for a diplomatic enclave at CBD, promising further development for the area. CEO CBD Imran Amin also addressed the function, underlining the transformative impact of the infrastructure project on the region.
