Punjab Government Enhances Compensation for Deceased Government Employees’ Families
In a significant move, the Punjab government has recently announced a revision in the compensation structure for the families of government employees who unfortunately pass away during their service tenure. The government’s notification outlines a substantial increase in financial assistance, aiming to better support the dependents of the deceased officers.
The key highlights of the revised compensation scheme are as follows:
- Termination of Job Benefits for Grades 1 to 11 Employees:
After the demise of a government employee in grades 1 to 11, their dependents will no longer be eligible for job opportunities. - Enhanced Financial Assistance:
- For employees in Scale 1 to 4, the family will now receive a financial aid of 5 million rupees.
- Scale 5 to 10 employees’ families are entitled to 7.5 million rupees.
- Families of Scale 11 to 15 employees will be provided with 10 million rupees.
- Scale 16 and 17 employees’ families are eligible for 25 million rupees.
- Employees in Scale 18 to 22 will receive significant financial support of 20 million rupees.
This comprehensive adjustment in compensation aims to alleviate the financial burdens faced by the families of deceased government employees and ensure a more robust support system during challenging times.
