Govt Introduces Ramazan Relief Package with Special Discounts at Utility Stores

In a bid to assist citizens during the holy month of Ramazan, the caretaker government has announced a comprehensive relief package available at utility stores. This initiative aims to make 19 essential items more affordable for the general public.

Express News reports that the Ramazan relief package, coordinated through the Ministry of Industries and Production, encompasses a range of basic food items. These include flour, sugar, ghee, cooking oil, rice, pulses, dates, chickpea flour (besan), milk, beverages, and spices, all of which will be sold at subsidized rates.

To ensure the targeted distribution of benefits, only families registered with the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) are eligible. Specifically, those with a poverty index score of PMT-60 or less will be able to avail themselves of the relief package. Families not currently registered with BISP are encouraged to contact the nearest BISP offices for enrollment.

In an effort to extend the impact of the relief package, special discounts will also be extended to general consumers. This inclusive approach seeks to address the broader needs of the population during the holy month, fostering a sense of community support and welfare.

As the caretaker government takes proactive measures to alleviate the financial burden on citizens, the Ramazan relief package at utility stores emerges as a significant initiative promoting accessibility to essential goods for all segments of society.
