Gulistan-e-Johar Accident: 23-Year-Old Scooty Rider Crushed by Dump Truck

A 23-year-old woman tragically lost her life on Tuesday in Karachi due to the poor condition of Rashid Minhas Road. The accident occurred near Jauhar Mor when Sara Iqbal, riding her scooter, slipped on the uneven surface of the road, leading to a fatal collision with a dump truck.

Deputy Inspector General-Traffic (DIG) Ahmad Nawaz Cheema confirmed that the incident took place as Sara was traveling from the Nipa Bridge towards Drigh Road. Her scooter slipped near Sunny Pride Apartments in Gulistan-i-Jauhar, causing her to fall. A dump truck, identified by its license plate TKM-214, ran over her, resulting in her immediate death. The driver fled the scene, abandoning the vehicle, which Sharea Faisal police later took for investigation.

The tragic incident sheds light on the deteriorating road conditions in Karachi, exacerbated by recent rains. DIG Cheema noted that the city’s roads, including Rashid Minhas Road, have been severely damaged, leading to numerous accidents. He emphasized that traffic police are making efforts to repair these roads, but the risks remain high.

Similarly, an incident occurred on Monday near Karsaz Road, Karachi, where a woman driving an SUV car ran over people, which led to the deaths of two people. The woman is recognized as Natasha Danish Iqbal, wife of Gul Ahmed Energy CEO.
