Haier Signs MOU with University of the Punjab to Empower Students Through Scholarships

Haier Pakistan is committed to empowering youth through education and in this respect, it invests in many educational initiatives to benefit students across the country. As part of this ongoing effort, Haier has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the University of the Punjab, marking another milestone in its long-term support for deserving students. Now entering its second consecutive year, this partnership extends Haier’s need-based scholarship program until 2027, ensuring that talented yet financially challenged students can continue their higher education and realize their potential.”
This collaboration is embedded within Haier’s broader Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) campaign, which reflects the company’s belief in education as a catalyst for meaningful change. By offering scholarships, Haier is able to reach a wider audience and make a deeper impact, opening doors for students who might otherwise be unable to pursue their academic goals. The program is designed to be smooth, transparent and merit-based, aligning with Haier’s vision of fairness and inclusivity in education.
Punjab University’s leadership, including Vice Chancellor Dr. Muhammad Ali and Pro Vice Chancellor Dr. Khalid Mahmood, warmly appreciated Haier’s efforts to advance educational opportunities and support deserving students with improved access to quality learning. The MOU signing ceremony was held at the University of the Punjab and was attended by senior representatives from both institutions. From Punjab University, Director Planning & Development Dr. Hafiz Muhammad Anwar Asghar, Registrar Dr. Ahmed Islam, Director, Directorate External Linkages Dr. Yaamina Salman, Director Protocols Malik Sarfaraz, while Haier Pakistan was represented by Mr. Zhang Zohnglig from Chinese Management, Director Marketing Mr. Hamayoun Bashir, , Director HR Mr. Shahid Alvi, Director Operations Mr. Zafar Iqbal, Senior Manager Marketing Mr. Jamshed Ali and Creative Manger Ms. Suman Munir were present. Their presence underscored the importance of this partnership and the shared vision of supporting education as a driver of national progress.
By extending the scholarship program until 2027, Haier and the University of the Punjab are not only investing in individual students but also in the collective future of Pakistan. The initiative helps to nurture talent, fostering innovation and contributing to socio-economic development.
