The first post-Hajj flight of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA), PK 860, arrived in Karachi from Jeddah on Thursday afternoon, carrying 160 pilgrims back home. The returning pilgrims were warmly greeted by PIA District Manager Umar Khan, Airport Manager Javed Pechuho, and other PIA officials, marking a smooth start to the post-Hajj operations.
PIA is planning to facilitate the return of more than 35,000 pilgrims from Saudi Arabia in the coming days. This ambitious operation includes a series of 171 flights aimed at bringing pilgrims back to various cities across Pakistan. Specifically, PIA will cater to around 19,500 pilgrims who traveled under the government Hajj scheme and about 14,900 who journeyed through private Hajj operators. Additionally, approximately 630 Hajj support staff will also be returning home.
These post-Hajj flights will be operating to several major Pakistani cities, including Karachi, Islamabad, Lahore, Multan, Sialkot, and Peshawar, ensuring that pilgrims from different regions can return to their hometowns safely and conveniently.
