The National Assembly session will be held on Wednesday (today). However, Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) is likely to protest against Shahbaz Sharif arrest.
The opposition is likely to protest against Shahbaz Sharif arrest in the National Assembly session today. The NA session summoned on the PML-N leaders’ requisition. After the Shahbaz Sharif arrest, PML-N delegation visited NA speaker’s house. However, they requisitioned that a session of the Lower House be called immediately to discuss the matter.
Yesterday, Shahbaz Sharif remand extended by 14 days as Accountability Court granted NAB the extension to probe Ashiana Housing Scheme case. However, the former chief minister is accused in the case.
Earlier, the National Accountability Bureau requested to extend the Shahbaz Sharif remand. However, his 10-day remand in the Ashiana Housing Scheme case met its deadline yesterday.
On October 5, NAB arrested Shahbaz Sharif due to the corruption in Ashiana Housing Scheme. Lahore Development Authority (LDA) former Director General Ahad Cheema also accused in the case. However, he and former principal secretary to deposed Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, Fawad Hasan Fawad are also remanded into NAB custody.
