How Much mm Rain in Karachi Recorded Today?

Karachi woke up to heavy rainfall on Thursday morning, with Gulshan-e-Maymar receiving the maximum rainfall of 11.5mm in the city in the last 24 hours, according to the Met Office. Other areas like Faisal Base, North Karachi, and Korangi also experienced significant rainfall, with 11mm, 10mm, and 8.8mm respectively.

The rain showered various parts of Karachi, including Old Airport area, Jinnah Terminal, DHA, Keamari, Surjani, PAF Masroor Base, and Nazimabad, with rainfall ranging from 1mm to 6mm. The downpour caused rainwater to accumulate in several areas, including M.T. Khan Road, Sultanabad, Hijrat Colony, and Lyari.

The Met Office had earlier predicted torrential monsoon rains in the country from August 1 to 6, and the latest rainfall is a result of this weather system. The rain is expected to continue with occasional gaps until August 6, bringing relief to the city from the scorching heat.
