How to Apply For Arm License in Pakistan: Process, Documents And Fee (April 2024)

Pakistani citizens will need to obtain a license from the Ministry of Interior to keep non-prohibited and prohibited bore weapons. The Ministry issues a permit after verifying the documents submitted by the applicant for obtaining a weapon license. Before applying for a new weapon license, you need to meet the following conditions:

  • Valid Identity Card or NICOP
  • Age 25 years
  • Not deemed inappropriate by local police
  • Neither a proscribed person nor a member of a proscribed organization, nor suspected of being involved in any anti-state activity. Physically, mentally or psychologically incapable of carrying a weapon

NADRA Arms License Online Apply (Step by Step Process)

The step-by-step process to obtain a weapon license is as follows:

  • Approval request from the Ministry of Interior
  • Execution of approval letter
  • Uploading approval on NADRA system through online procedure by the Ministry of Interior.
  • Execution of Biometric and Demand Note of the licensee within the stipulated time (both by NADRA)
  • Purchase of weapon from authorized dealer and its entry on Demand Note
  • Entry of Demand Note in the relevant DC Office
  • Submitting Demand Note in NADRA for issuance of license

Documents Required for Arm License in Pakistan

Application (handwritten or typed) addressed to Section Officer (Arms), M/O Interior.

  • Photocopy of Identity Card (attested)
  • Police Clearance Certificate
  • Affidavit (attested by Notary Public)
  • Filer documents (if any)

Fee Structure for New Weapon License in Pakistan

A new arms license fee includes a government fee and a NADRA fee. The total fee for a prohibited license is 28,000 Rupees (25,000 government fee and 3,000 Rupees NADRA fee).

The government fee for a non-prohibited license is 12,500 Rupees while the NADRA fee is 1,500 Rupees, making the total fee 14,000 Rupees.

If the filer meets the prescribed tax limit for all types of weapon licenses (100,000/- for PB and 50,000/- Rupees for NPB), it will be halved.
