Islamabad High Court (IHC) will hear the appeal by Nawaz Sharif, Maryam Nawaz, and Capt (Retd) Safdar against Avenfield Verdict today.
According to sources, IHC will hear the appeal against Avenfield Verdict by Sharif family members today. Nawaz Sharif, Maryam Nawaz, and Captain (Retd) Safdar have filed an appeal against the Avenfield verdict in the Islamabad High Court on Monday.
The hearing bench will comprise on two senior judges. However, Justice Miangul Hassan and Mohsin Akhtar Kayani will hear appeals.
The appeal against the Avenfield verdict highlights the legal flaws in the Avenfield judgments, and asks for the accountability court’s verdict to be declared null and void and the three convicts to be released on bail.
According to the appeal, Wajid Zia, Panamagate Joint Investigation Team (JIT) head and key witness himself acknowledged that a reaction to the Mutual Legal Assistance (MLA) request not received. He further added that leveling charges without accepting a reaction to the MLA was unappropriate.
Lawful guidance of the convicts have fought that the arraignment’s witness Robert Radley not just expressed that Calibri font test version was available, he confessed to having downloaded and utilized the Calibri textual style which was accessible as pre-arrival of Windows Vista acknowledged as BETA-1 since 2005. He also accepted that he was not a computer geek or It expert or computer expert.
The Avenfield reference verdict came against Nawaz Sharif and his family. The Accountability Court sentenced the imprisonment of 10, 7, and 1 year to Nawaz, Maryam, and Captain Safdar (retd) respectively. The court also fined Nawaz Sharif and Maryam 8 million and 2 million Pounds respectively. All three leaders later moved to Adiala Jail Rawalpindi.
