ISLAMABAD: Two witnesses from the prosecution recorded their statements in ATC over Imran Farooq murder case, today.
The Imran Farooq murder case is ongoing in the Anti-terrorism court. In the hearing today, Wednesday, Muhammad Asif and Shahid, who belong to a private bank recorded their statements.
ATC Judge, Shahrukh Arujumand was presiding over the hearing of the case today. Muhammad Asif told the court that 24 transactions were made in Moazzam Ali’s account. Moazzam Ali is one of the key accused in the case and was charged by the ATC last month.
Asif also told the court that this is not true that this is not a system-generated bank statement.
After hearing the statements of the two prosecution witnesses, Asif and Shahid, ATC Judge Arjumand expressed anger over absence of a witness. The witness is the former head of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Badruddin Baloch.
ATC Judge Shahrukh Arjumand said that if the witness does not appear in the next hearing arrest warrants will be issued for him.
The court was then adjourned till 9th of July for resuming the hearing.
MQM Leader, Imran Farooq was murdered in September 16, 2010, outside his house in the city of London. Farooq’s body was sent to post-mortem where it was found out that he was stabbed to death after being hit in the head by a blunt object.
FIA registered cases against MQM leader and other leaders over the murder back in 2015.
The London police had discovered the kitchen knife and brick used in the murder of Dr. Imran from the scene of the crime.
