Sheikh Rashid Ahmed, the head of the Awami Muslim League (AML) and a supporter of the PTI, was taken into custody by Islamabad police early on Thursday.

While Imran Riaz Khan, a prominent opponent of institutions and the governing party administration, arrested by federal investigators early on Thursday as well.

His attorney stated that the 47-year-old anchor person detained by the FIA’s cybercrime division at the Allama Iqbal International Airport, contrary to reports in the local media. Khan’s attorney stated that the charges brought against his client have not made public, claiming that his arrest was unlawful and promising to submit a court motion.

Meanwhile, Sheikh Rasheed detained concerning comments he is believed to have made regarding Asif Ali Zardari, in which he claimed that Zardari hatched a “death plan to remove PTI head, Imran Khan.”

The veteran politician detained as a result of a police complaint lodged by Raja Inayat-ur-Rehman, the vice chairman of the PPP’s Rawalpindi Division. He claimed that the AML chief had claimed that PPP co-chairman Asif Zardari had received help from a terrorist to kill Imran Khan in a television interview on January 27.
The head of AML pledged to take his arrest to court. He had earlier shared a picture of himself grinning at the Aabpara Police Station on Twitter.
