Due to the ongoing India-Pak war crises, Saudi Foreign Minister Adel al-Jubeir came to Pakistan on Thursday (today).
Saudi Foreign Minister Adel al-Jubeir came to Pakistan on the day long visit. However, he will meet with his counterpart Shah Mehmood Qureshi and Prime Minister Imran Khan. During the meeting, the regional situation and bilateral matters will be discussed.
Saudi Foreign Minister had to arrive in Pakistan last week. Later, he delayed his tour but the reason for change was not stated by him.
In February, the Saudi crown prince Mohammad bin Salman visited Pakistan. In his joint press conference with PM Imran Khan before departing, MbS had said, “It feels home in Pakistan…. We believe in Pakistan’s future, we believe that Pakistan has huge opportunities. In 2030, Pakistan will be next to two huge economies, China and India.”
On the other side, the tension is growing between Pakistan and India over Kashmir crisis. In February, Pulwama attack resulted in the death of 44 Indian soldiers. India blamed Pakistan for the terrorist attack and Indian Air Force invaded the Line of Control. However, they forced to return after the timely response by Pakistan Air Force. Next day, Pakistan shot down 2 Indian aircrafts and also captured pilot Abhinandan whom they released later.
