Reports suggesting that Bushra Bibi, the wife of former Prime Minister Imran Khan, is set to enter politics have been firmly denied by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI). PTI leader Mashal Yousafzai addressed these rumors in a statement, emphasizing that Bushra Bibi remains apolitical and is focused solely on securing the release of her husband, who is currently in custody.
Yousafzai labeled the claims of Bushra Bibi’s political involvement as baseless and unfounded, further clarifying that there is no truth to the speculation. This clarification comes after widespread reports had circulated in the media, sparking discussions about her possible political career.
Meanwhile, PTI founder Imran Khan continues to lead the charge for his party’s cause. He has called for a nationwide protest in Islamabad on November 24, 2024, as part of a broader campaign against the “stolen mandate” and the “unjust arrests” of PTI members. The protest also aims to challenge the recent passage of the 26th Constitutional Amendment Bill.
Imran Khan’s sister, Aleema Khan, emphasized the urgency of the protest after visiting him at Adiala Jail. She reiterated that the call for action is directed towards all PTI ticket holders, members of parliament, workers, and supporters. According to Aleema Khan, Imran Khan has expressed deep concerns about the state of the country, claiming that citizens’ rights have been stripped away, the Supreme Court has been “occupied,” and the current political environment is worse than previous martial law periods.
With these statements, PTI continues to rally its supporters as it faces challenges both within the political landscape and in its ongoing struggle for justice and political reform.
