Islamabad e-Rozgaar Centers: A New Hub for Freelancers and Startups

The Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training (MoFEPT) has officially launched e-Rozgaar Centers at Islamabad College for Girls, F-6/2, as part of the newly established Software Technology Parks (STPs). This initiative aims to promote a thriving tech ecosystem in Islamabad by offering young professionals the tools and spaces they need to excel in the digital economy.

Key Highlights of the e-Rozgaar Centers Initiative

The STPs/e-Rozgaar Centers were inaugurated by Federal Minister for Education and Professional Training, Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, at Islamabad Model College for Girls (PG), F-7/4. Speaking at the event, Dr. Siddiqui emphasized the initiative’s significance in bridging the gap between education and industry, stating, “These centers will empower Pakistan’s youth by providing resources to thrive in the digital world. They will also serve as hubs for innovation and entrepreneurship.”

A Transformative Step for Islamabad’s Youth

Member of Parliament Abdul Aleem Khan, who was the chief guest at the event, highlighted the vast potential of these technology parks, remarking, “By offering modern facilities, we are laying the foundation for a robust digital economy. This is a transformative opportunity for young professionals.”

Mohyuddin Ahmad Wani, Secretary of MoFEPT, echoed similar sentiments, adding that the initiative marks a “significant milestone in promoting a vibrant tech ecosystem.” He noted that the five IT parks established in model colleges are not just physical spaces but communities and platforms for growth.

Islamabad e-Rozgaar Centers Location

In the initial phase, five STPs/e-Rozgaar Centers have launched across model colleges in Islamabad, including:

  • Islamabad College for Boys, G-6/3
  • Islamabad College for Girls, F-6/2
  • Islamabad Model College for Girls (PG), F-7/4
  • Islamabad Model College for Boys, F-8/4
  • Islamabad Model College for Boys, F-10/4

These centers have renovated within three months, transforming existing halls into modern spaces for collaboration and innovation. Equipped with air conditioning, high-speed internet, free electricity, and fully furnished meeting rooms, the e-Rozgaar Centers offer an ideal environment for freelancers, startups, and young entrepreneurs.

A New Era of Co-Working Spaces

Principal Prof. Sabah Faisal shared her enthusiasm for the new workspaces, stating, “We believe that a workspace should inspire creativity, foster collaboration, and create a sense of community.” The e-Rozgaar Centers feature vibrant wall murals and dynamic spaces, designed to encourage innovation among freelancers and startups.
