Islamabad Traffic Police Issue Alternate Route Plan Amid Political Protests

In response to ongoing protests and sit-ins by political parties, the Islamabad Traffic Police have released a comprehensive alternative route plan to ensure smooth traffic flow and public safety.

Due to the current law and order situation, several key routes in Islamabad are subject to traffic diversions. Citizens are advised to follow the alternative routes provided by the traffic police to avoid any inconvenience.

Key Diversions and Alternative Routes:

  1. Rawat T-Cross Closure:
  • In case the Rawat T-cross is closed, commuters can use the Rawalpindi Saddar Road as an alternative route.
  1. Peshawar GT Road Closure:
  • If the Peshawar GT Road is closed, motorists are advised to use the motorway. Additionally, if Srinagar Highway G-14 is closed, Peshawar Road, GT Road, Mirabad, and Colonel Sher Khan Road can be used to access Islamabad.
  1. Faizabad Closure:
  • In the event of Faizabad being closed, alternative routes include Khanna Pul, Lehtrar Road, Captain Tufail Shaheed Road, and Park Road. For those affected by the closure of Faizabad Murree Road, Ninth Avenue is the recommended alternative route.
  1. Zero Point Closure:
  • If Zero Point is closed, commuters should use Faisal Avenue and Jinnah Avenue.
  1. Dhokri Chowk and Serena Chowk Closure:
  • In case Dhokri Chowk and Serena Chowk are closed, the suggested alternative routes are Srinagar Highway and Seventh Avenue.
  1. Embassy Road Closure:
  • If Embassy Road is closed, citizens can use Shaheed Millat Road, China Chowk Underpass, and F-6 as alternative routes.

Section 144 Imposed and Major Roads Blocked

In light of the ongoing protests by Jamaat-e-Islami, Section 144 has been imposed in the city. Major roads have been blocked with containers to maintain order and prevent disruptions.

The Islamabad Traffic Police urge all citizens to stay informed about the latest traffic updates and plan their routes accordingly. The alternative route plan aims to minimize traffic congestion and ensure the safety of all road users during this period of political activity.

For real-time updates and further information, citizens can follow the Islamabad Traffic Police on their official social media channels or visit their website.
