Rain accompanied by gusty winds is expected in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, and parts of northern Pakistan starting today and continuing into Wednesday, according to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD).
Weather Forecast for Islamabad and Northern Regions
The PMD indicates that continental air is currently prevailing over most parts of the country, while a shallow westerly wave is affecting upper regions. Due to these conditions, rain and gusty winds are expected in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, upper Punjab, Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, and upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa from Tuesday night through Wednesday.
Temperature Forecast for Islamabad and Rawalpindi
- Islamabad: The maximum temperature is expected to range between 35°C and 37°C on Wednesday, and between 36°C and 38°C on Thursday (September 13).
- Rawalpindi: The maximum temperature is forecasted to be between 34°C and 36°C on Wednesday, and 35°C and 37°C on Thursday.
Recent Weather Activity Across Pakistan
During the last 24 hours, most parts of Pakistan experienced hot and dry weather. However, isolated rain, wind, and thundershowers were reported in parts of northeast Punjab, northern Balochistan, and Upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
