Pakistan Railways have informed that the Jaffar Express train service that operates on the route Quetta to Peshawar, suspended on August 25, 2025 and August 26, 2025. Today’s scheduled return service Peshawar to Quetta is also cancelled.
Pakistan Railways officials said it was made because of heavy rainfall and weather related-hazards along the path. The operations will be shut down for two more days and can be resumed when the conditions improve, after August 26.
The Jaffar Express 2025 schedule connects Quetta with Peshawar, passing through all four provinces. It is one of the longest-running routes in Pakistan Railways operations. The train is frequently used for travel across Sindh, Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Balochistan.
Jaffar Express Hijack and Attacks in 2025
There have been numerous setbacks to the train this year:

- June 2025: Train derailing near Jacobabad caused by a blast of the track.
- August 2025: IED attack to the outskirts of Spezand, in the Quetta region.
