Jamaat-e-Islami Dharna Extends to CM House in Lahore

Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Dharna extended outside the Chief Minister’s House in Lahore from August 11. The announcement was made by JI spokesperson Qaiser Sharif, who confirmed that the party’s emir, Hafiz Naeemur Rehman, will address the gathering. This protest is part of a larger movement, with plans to extend the demonstrations to other cities as well.

According to JI leader Ziauddin Ansari, the people of Lahore are well aware of how to hold their leaders accountable. He emphasized that Hafiz Naeemur Rehman represents the hopes of a frustrated nation. In a related statement, Abdul Aziz Abid urged current leaders to learn from the events in Bangladesh, referencing the struggles of ousted Prime Minister Hasina Wajid. He noted that despite her attempts to maintain control, the people’s will prevailed. Abid also highlighted the unwavering dedication of Jamaat-e-Islami workers.

The upcoming sit-in in Lahore reflects growing discontent and is part of JI’s broader strategy to rally support and press for change. The party’s leaders believe that their efforts will resonate with the public and inspire a movement towards accountability and reform.
