Jamaat e Islami Protest in Karachi Tomorrow: Full List of Roads That Will Be Blocked

Jamaat-e-Islami issued a call to hold mass protests in Karachi on Friday, December 19. The sit-ins, led by Munim Zafar Khan, are against the Sindh government due to traffic accidents, e-challans, and infrastructural collapses. The protests will block major highways and social places, which will impact commuters in Karachi.

The JI Protest in Karachi is set for Friday, December 19. Jamaat-e-Islami Karachi chief Munim Zafar Khan confirmed the plan. He and local leaders will address citizens at key locations. The protests are part of the ongoing Haq Do Karachi Movement.

The sit-ins begin after the Friday prayers, between 2:00 PM and 5:00 PM. The protesters are interested in making the Sindh government pressure over the road safety, heavy traffic accidents, and the e-challan system.

Major roads and public points are targeted for the Jamaat e Islami protest:

  • Shara-e-Faisal: Star Gate & Nursery
  • University Road & F.B. Area: Hassan Square & Water Pump
  • North Karachi: Five Star Chowrangi & UP Mor
  • Orangi Town: Bacha Khan Chowk & Hub River Road
  • South/City Center: Numaish Chowrangi & Mauripur Road
  • Korangi & Landhi: Korangi Crossing & Nasir Jump
  • Malir: Malir 15 & Quaidabad
  • Sohrab Goth: M-9 Motorway entrance

Munim Zafar Khan highlighted several core issues:

  1. Traffic Accidents: Over 250 fatal accidents caused by dumper and tanker drivers.
  2. E-Challan System: Called “unjust” and a revenue tool rather than a safety measure.
  3. Infrastructure Collapse: Broken roads, overflowing sewers, and civic disorder.
  4. Public Safety: Rising crime, including motorcycle snatches and robberies, while police focus on traffic enforcement.

Commuters should avoid these roads from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Shara-e-Faisal and University Road may face heavy jams. Authorities advise planning alternate routes.
