Jamaat-e-Islami Karachi has rescheduled their sit-in protest at the Governor House in Karachi. The protest, highlighting issues such as load shedding, high electricity costs, anti-public IPP agreements, and oppressive taxes on salaried individuals and traders, will now begin on Saturday, August 3rd. This decision was taken during a significant meeting chaired by Jamaat-e-Islami Karachi Amir Munim Zafar Khan at Idara Noor Haq.
Participants of the sit-in will gather at Khizra Mosque in Saddar at 5 PM, led by district heads. Additionally, on Friday, August 2nd, a funeral prayer in absentia for Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh will be held in mosques throughout Karachi.
The announcement aims to bring attention to the increasing grievances of the public regarding the electricity crisis and the financial burdens imposed by recent budgetary measures.
