Sindh government has canceled the transfer order of Hazim Bangwar, a well-known bureaucrat. Hazim, who gained fame for his unique style and dedication to public service, was removed from his position last month after issuing eviction notices to former officials.
The Sindh Chief Secretary, Asif Hyder Shah, issued a notification on Tuesday confirming that the earlier order, dated October 28, 2024, had been withdrawn. The notification stated that Hazim, an officer of PMS (BS-17), will no longer report to the Services, General Administration, and Coordination Department. Instead, he retains his post as Assistant Commissioner General at the Karachi Commissioner’s office.
Hazim, often referred to as a “cool” bureaucrat, first captured public attention during his tenure as the Assistant Commissioner of North Nazimabad in 2023. With his sharp fashion sense and innovative approach to governance, he became a favorite among the masses. His recent removal sparked widespread debate, with many questioning the decision, especially considering his growing popularity and commitment to his role.
Although the reasons for his initial transfer remain unclear, the reversal of the decision suggests a shift in the Sindh government’s stance. The move is being welcomed by those who appreciate Bangwar’s unorthodox but effective methods in public administration.
For now, Hazim Bangwar is back in action, ready to serve Karachi with his distinctive flair and dedication, leaving everyone curious about his next move.
