As Eid-ul-Adha 2025 approaches, the Go Cashless Campaign has officially begin to promote digital payments in cattle markets across Pakistan, including the bustling cattle market Karachi—one of the country’s largest hubs for sacrificial animals.
State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has taken this strategic initiative to reduce reliance on cash transactions and push forward the national agenda of digital financial inclusion. From May 20 until June 6—or the night before Eid—the campaign aims to streamline the buying and selling of sacrificial animals through digital payment methods like mobile wallets, QR codes, and banking apps.
With Eid ul adha 2025 just around the corner, the move expected to ease pressure on physical cash, provide secure payment options to buyers and sellers, and offer a more transparent way to handle financial transactions in crowded animal markets.
Go Cashless Campaign implemented nationwide in collaboration with the banking industry, covering 54 officially designated cattle markets. From Punjab to Sindh, and especially in cattle market Karachi, the campaign is encouraging traders and customers to switch from traditional cash dealings to modern, secure, and traceable digital payment options.
According to SBP officials, this effort is a major step towards achieving a digitally empowered Pakistan. “Our goal is not just to make Eid transactions safer, but to bring a long-term behavioral change when it comes to financial habits,” an SBP representative shared.
In Karachi alone, thousands of buyers flock to Sohrab Goth cattle market—the largest of its kind in Asia. This year, digital kiosks, awareness booths, and on-ground support are being provided to help both vendors and customers transition to digital modes of payment smoothly.
The Go Cashless Campaign isn’t just about technology—it’s about convenience, transparency, and pushing Pakistan into a more financially inclusive future. With the rise in mobile banking and UPI-based transactions, experts believe this could be a turning point for how large-scale transactions are handled during religious festivals.
So whether you’re buying a cow, goat, or camel this year, remember: going cashless in cattle market Karachi might just be the smartest and safest way to celebrate Eid-ul-Azha in 2025.
