Karachi residents are receiving fake traffic challan SMS claiming payment through mobile services such as Easypaisa. The Karachi Traffic Police confirmed that these messages are fraudulent, misleading, and not affiliated with any government department.
Officials said some scammers are sending false SMS alerts asking citizens to pay a Karachi traffic challan using Easypaisa or other mobile payment methods. These traffic challan scam messages are being sent from personal or unverified numbers. The department clarified that Karachi Traffic Police never sends challan payment instructions through personal SMS numbers.
Karachi Traffic Police Statement
The spokesperson of Karachi Traffic Police told that these fake traffic challan messages are not related to the new traffic fine system. Citizens are advised not to click on links or transfer money in response to any suspicious SMS. The official helpline 1915 is available for verification of any traffic fine notice.

Upcoming Faceless e-Challan System
A new, faceless e-challan system will be launched on 1 October 2025. Under this system, traffic violations will be recorded through CCTV cameras, and the Karachi traffic fine challans will be delivered directly to the violator’s registered address. Payment details will be available only on the official Karachi Traffic Police website and government-authorized platforms.
The Karachi Traffic Police asked the citizens to be careful and avoid disclosing any personal or financial data. All payment of traffic challan must be done by use of established government systems. To verify a Karachi traffic challan, it will be enough to call the traffic police helpline by dialing 1915 or refer to the official traffic police site.
