According to seismic data, the Karachi earthquake measured 5.2 on the Richter scale. The depth stood at 12 kilometers. The epicenter was located in Sonmiani, about 87 kilometers from Karachi. The shallow depth made the tremors noticeable across a wide area.
People reported shaking in I.I. Chundrigar Road, Saddar, Clifton, PECHS, and DHA. Residents stepped outside as buildings swayed briefly. In many areas, the movement lasted only a few seconds, but it caught attention across the city.
Some sources also claim tremors felt in SITE Area, Tipu Sultan Road, Pehlwan Goth, and Bahria Town. Social media filled with updates as people shared where they felt the earthquake Karachi experienced today. Many asked about aftershocks, but authorities reported none immediately.
Earlier the same day, another earthquake struck Sibi and nearby areas in Balochistan. That tremor measured 3.2 in magnitude. Its epicenter was located 53 kilometers southwest of Sibi. Residents there also reported light shaking.
Pakistan lies in an active seismic zone. Earthquake activity in Karachi and Balochistan often links to regional fault lines. Experts continue to monitor seismic movement across southern Pakistan. However, there are no casualties reported in Karachi or Balochistan.
