KARACHI: The city is facing load shedding yet again after a heatwave warning was issued by the met department. The Meteorological department had said extreme temperature is to be expected in Karachi for next 2 days.
The city had just gotten relief from the power crisis but it seems that was only temporary. Various areas of Karachi are facing unannounced load shedding on various times. K-electric has issued a statement in which it said that one unit at Bin-Qasim has tripped. The statement also read that efforts are being made to get the unit back up as soon as possible.
The areas exempt from facing load shedding are now power less at random times for 30 minutes to an hour. Areas like Gulistan-e-Johar, Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Gizri, P.E.C.H.S. etc are facing issues of power cuts on different unannounced hours. The areas that already have a scheduled load shedding have once again become target of prolonged power cuts. Digri, Malir, Shah Faisal Colony etc face 10 to 12 hours of load shedding in this life taking heat.
K-Electric had said that 60% areas of the city do not face power cuts, but it seems that was a baseless statement. As almost all of the city is under power crisis on various times. Karachi Meteorological department had issued a heatwave warning yesterday. The temperature is expected to rise up-to 43 degree Celsius in these two days.
