In a bid to enhance women’s accessibility and safety in public transport, the Sindh Government has announced the launch of two new routes, R3 and R9, for the Pink Bus service in Karachi.
New Routes:
- R3: Power Chowrangi North Karachi to Nasir Jump Korangi
- R9: Al-Khidmat Hospital Gulshan-e-Hadid to Tower via Shahra-e-Faisal
Free Travel for Women:
To encourage women to use the new routes, the government is offering two months of free travel on R3 and R9.
Fleet Expansion:
Ten new pink buses have been added to the service’s fleet, demonstrating the government’s commitment to prioritizing women’s safety and convenience in public transit.
Gender Inclusion:
People’s Party Member of the Sindh Assembly, Faryal Talpur, awarded licenses to four women drivers, marking a significant step towards gender inclusion and employment opportunities in the transportation sector.
