In a move to enhance public transportation for women, the Sindh government has launched two new routes for the Pink Bus Service, a women-exclusive bus service. To celebrate this expansion, female passengers will enjoy complimentary rides for two months.
New Routes:
- Route R-3: Powerhouse Chowrangi in North Karachi to Nasir Jump in Korangi
- Route R-9: Gulshan-e-Hadeed to Tower
Existing Routes:
- Route 1: Model Colony to Tower
- Route 2: North Karachi to Korangi
- Route 10: Numaish Chowrangi to Sea View Beach
Timings:
- Operating hours: 7 am to 8 pm daily
- Frequency: One bus every 20 minutes during peak hours, one bus per hour outside peak times
Fare:
- Minimum fare: PKR 50 per person for any route
The expansion of the Pink Bus Service aims to provide a safe and convenient transportation option for women in Karachi. With the addition of 10 new buses, the service is expected to benefit a large number of female commuters.
