The northeast Arabian Sea weather system has intensified and developed into a deep depression, with the possibility of turning into a cyclone within 12 hours, according to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD).
The system is currently located around 400 kilometers south of Karachi. Under its influence, Karachi and several districts in Sindh, including Tharparkar, Badin, Thatta, Sujawal, Hyderabad, and Jamshoro, may experience light to moderate rain with drizzle at isolated locations. PMD has also confirmed that the sea will remain rough to very rough.
For Karachi, the PMD forecast states partly cloudy and humid conditions for the next 24 hours with chances of drizzle. The maximum temperature expected to remain near 36 degrees Celsius with humidity around 81 percent. It was 33.5 degree Celsius with 56 percent humidity in Karachi earlier in this week.
The Cyclone in Arabian Sea October 2025 triggered advisories for fishermen. The Sindh Fisheries Department has instructed fishermen not to venture into the deep sea until October 3 due to high waves and gusty winds. Squally winds of 55–65 km/h, gusting to 75 km/h, already observed in the northeast Arabian Sea. These may strengthen up to 95 km/h today and could reach 100–110 km/h, gusting 125 km/h, as the system moves further northwest.
The cyclone alert for October 2025 also includes the possibility of gusty winds and thunderstorms. Low-lying areas in Karachi and coastal Sindh may face waterlogging if rainfall increases. The PMD has cautioned about potential damage to signboards, electric poles, and temporary structures due to strong winds.
According to weather models, the deep depression will probably become a severe cyclonic storm as they move to the northwest Arabian Sea. The movement of PMD still monitored by the PMD and the regional meteorological centers. The most significant development in terms of weather in Karachi and the coastal Sindh is the cyclone in Arabian Sea in October 2025.
