The Sindh Transport Department has unveiled three new routes for the Peoples Bus Service in Karachi, aiming to provide citizens with affordable and efficient transportation options.
New Routes and Start Dates:
- Hawksbay to Tower – Operations commence on July 22.
- Extension of Route 12 – From Qaidabad, Korangi, and Memon Goth to Tower, starting on July 23 (previously from Khokhrapar).
- Electric Bus Route from Kathore to Numaish – Begins on July 24.
- Yousuf Goth to Tower – Launches on July 25.
Sindh Transport Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon emphasized that these new routes are part of a larger effort to enhance Karachi’s public transportation system. He stated, “Our goal is to ensure that the citizens of Karachi have access to affordable and reliable transportation.”
In addition to these new routes, the Sindh Transport Department is planning to introduce more buses and routes in the near future. These initiatives aim to address the long-standing transport issues in Karachi and improve the overall public transportation network.
Last month, the Sindh government also announced new routes for the Peoples Bus Service. During a meeting with elected MPAs from Karachi, the deputy mayor, and other officials, it was decided to launch new routes in Malir, Kemari, Lyari, and district West, including a new bus route from Numaish to Hawkes Bay.
These efforts reflect the Sindh government’s commitment to solving Karachi’s transportation challenges and providing better services to its residents.
