Karachi’s traffic police announced that two major lanes on University Road, stretching from Safura to Samama, will be closed to traffic. This closure is part of ongoing development work for the Karachi Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) service, which aims to enhance transportation across the city.

To mitigate traffic disruptions, the authorities have set up alternative routes for commuters. Vehicles traveling from NIPA are being redirected onto the Dow University (Ojha Campus) turn, then towards Safura via Sachal. Similarly, traffic from Safura is being rerouted to Jauhar Chowrangi, and vehicles approaching from Samama are directed towards NIPA.
Traffic police are actively managing the situation on-site to ensure a smooth flow of vehicles and to assist travelers. The exact duration of the road closure and the completion date for the BRT development project remain uncertain.
