Karachi Traffic rolled out a drone-assisted e-challan system on December 12, 2025. This is a massive shift for Pakistan traffic management. The Safe City Authority and Traffic Police teamed up. They want to crush congestion and boost enforcement transparency. Illegal parking is the main target.
The initial phase focused on busy Saddar zones. Areas included Zaibunnisa Street, Preedy Street, and the Empress Market vicinity. Drone surveillance captures clear proof of violations. It catches double and triple parking easily. Authorities will soon expand coverage. Look for drones near Tariq Road and Rashid Minhas Road.
Drone transmits violation pictures directly to the command center. The vehicle owner is in turn sent an e-challan to his or her address. Physical stops have been replaced with faceless ticketing. This eliminates the hassle of having to tow vehicles. It also deals with corruption allegations.
Violators face hefty penalties for illegal parking. Pay fast to save money. Motorists get a 50% fine discount for payment within 14 days. Delay payment, and the penalty doubles. Digital traffic enforcement is the future here. This system improves Karachi mobility. Traffic reforms are now active.
