The Sindh administration is all set to revolutionize Karachi’s public transport system. The city’s residents can look forward to an influx of new buses and the extension of the electric bus service to two more routes after Eid.
Sindh’s Transport Minister, Sharjeel Inam Memon, recently briefed the media about these exciting developments. Post-Eid, Karachiites can expect to see a host of new buses plying various routes, along with an expanded Pink Bus service.
Memon highlighted the government’s dedication to its duties, acknowledging the delays in project execution during the interim government’s term. He stressed that the PPP Chairman and the President have placed high importance on enhancing the transport infrastructure.
The minister also drew attention to the government’s green initiatives, including the introduction of environmentally friendly buses. Some of these eco-friendly buses are already operational, with more set to join the fleet. Moreover, the inauguration of electric bus services on two new routes is planned for after Eid.
In a move to improve public transport accessibility province-wide, Memon also announced the expansion of the People’s Service buses to Mirpurkhas, extending the service beyond Karachi.
