Karachi Turns Colder With Winter Rain

The weather of Karachi turned colder on Monday as temperature dropped down a bit further after the arrival of rainfall.

According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) earlier, the highest rainfall of 5 mm was recorded in Gulshan-e-Hadid and Qaidaba.

This was followed by 4.5 mm in Surjani Town, 4mm at PAF Masroor Base and Kemari, University Road 3.8 mm whereas 3.4 mm rain was recorded at the airport.

A few areas of the city also received light rainfall. These included Old City Area with 3.0 mm of rain, PAF Faisal Base with 2.0 mm, and the Jamia Al-Rasheed area with 2.6 mm of rain.

The PMD added that a westerly wind system entered the provinces.

Due to this, various areas of Balochistan, including Quetta, Muslim Bagh and Toba Achakzai had received light showers while Ziarat Valley and its adjoining areas had also received snowfall.

Rain was reported in Lodhran, Kabirwala, Gojra, Jahanian, Toba Tek Singh and other cities of Punjab as well.
