A new weather system is predicted to reach eastern Sindh on August 16, bringing the possibility of rain and thunderstorms to Karachi and several other districts in Sindh. This forecast, provided by the Meteorological Department, indicates that Karachi might experience these weather conditions from August 16 to August 19.
During this period, heavy rain and thunderstorms are also expected in rural districts, including Mirpurkhas, Umerkot, Sanghar, Jamshoro, Dadu, Thatta, Badin, and Sujawal. The system is likely to affect additional areas such as Ghotki, Sukkur, Khairpur, Kashmore, Jacobabad, Shikarpur, and Larkana, which may also experience significant rainfall and stormy weather.
The Meteorological Department further predicts that Karachi’s weather will stay mostly cloudy with chances of light rain and drizzle over the next three days. On Tuesday, the city recorded a maximum temperature of 34.1 degrees Celsius, with humidity levels at 67%. The upcoming weather could bring much-needed relief, but residents should stay alert to possible disruptions.
