Karachi Weather Disrupts Flights: Multiple Cancellations and Delays Reported

Karachi, Pakistan – The recent spell of heavy rainfall in Karachi has led to significant disruptions in flight operations, with multiple flights being cancelled or delayed. The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has activated a rain emergency across its operational sections to manage the impact of the adverse weather conditions.

According to airport sources, several flights originating from Karachi have been cancelled due to the inclement weather. Among the affected flights are PIA’s flight 503 bound for Gwadar and the national carrier’s PK 768 flight destined for Islamabad.

Furthermore, private airline services connecting Karachi to Lahore and Islamabad have also experienced cancellations. Passengers on PIA’s PK 308 flight to Islamabad should expect delays, while a flight inbound from Iraq had to be cancelled due to airspace restrictions involving Iran and Israel.

In addition, flights between Karachi and Istanbul are facing significant delays, affecting both departures and arrivals.

A spokesperson for the Civil Aviation Authority highlighted that the ongoing rain emergency may cause further delays in flight arrivals and departures. The authority has taken measures to ensure operational readiness in dealing with the weather-related challenges.

Travelers are advised to stay updated with their respective airlines for the latest information on flight schedules and possible delays due to the adverse weather conditions in Karachi.
