A judicial magistrate in East Karachi has denied the bail plea of Natasha Danish Iqbal involved in an anti-narcotics case tied to the Karsaz accident. The decision comes as the authorities continue to intensify their efforts against drug-related crimes under the Narcotics Control Act.
The accused was taken into custody following the registration of a case by the police under the same act. Despite the defense’s arguments for leniency, the court remained firm in its refusal, citing the severity of the charges.
Following the rejection, the defense lawyer swiftly moved to challenge the magistrate’s ruling in the sessions court. The lawyer argued that critical evidence supporting the bail application was overlooked, raising concerns about the fairness of the process. The outcome of the appeal in the higher court is now awaited.
