Khawaja Asif Will Challenge the Decision of IHC in Supreme Court

Islamabad: Federal Minister Khawaja Asif has decided to challenge the decision of Islamabad High Court in the Supreme Court of Pakistan.

Supreme Court of Pakistan has disqualified Khawaja Asif on Iqama case. PTI leader Usman Dar had earlier filed petition against Khawaja Asif for holding Iqama (work permit) of UAE and not declaring it in nomination papers.

Senior journalist Hamid Mir spoke to Khawaja Asif after the verdict of IHC.

While talking to him Khawaja Asif revealed that he had declared all his assets since 1991 to Election Commission. This includes foreign accounts and Iqama.

Hamid Mir also said that Khawaja Asif was quiet calm and composed after the IHC verdict. He also said that he has already informed Election Commission about the Iqama. He also claims that he had declared Iqama in the nomination papers as well. He is therefore decided to consult Supreme Court of Pakistan to challenge the decision of IHC.

On the other hand, PTI leader Usman Dar spoke to media after the verdict. He congratulated Pakistan’s judiciary for such a brave and honest verdict. Usman Dar gave the credit of this victory to his leader Imran Khan. He further expressed that he will celebrate the victory with Imran Khan on 29th April in Lahore.

PTI leaders and workers even distributed sweets outside IHC to celebrate the verdict.
