The Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa announced a full-week celebration for Independence Day 2025 and to honour martyrs of Operation Radd-ul-Fasaad. The events will be held from August 7 to August 14 across the province.
According to an official notification, 19 departments have been assigned responsibilities for organising various activities. On August 14, sirens will be sounded at 8:00 AM across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa followed by a temporary suspension of traffic. Flag hoisting ceremonies will be held at Governor House, Chief Minister House, Civil Secretariat Peshawar, and all district headquarters. Divisional and Deputy Commissioners will oversee these activities.
On August 13, special tribute messages, videos, and speeches for the martyrs will be released on government websites. All employees must wear Pakistani flag badges and decorate government vehicles with flags.
From August 7 and August 14, banners with Independence Day and Nishan-e-Haq messages will be displayed at government buildings, main intersections, and tourist locations. Buildings will be illuminated, and the department with the best decoration will be rewarded.
Special prayers will be held on August 12 and 14 in mosques at the district, university, and college level for Pakistan’s security and unity. Media activities including speeches by public figures, quiz contests, and debates will air on TV, radio, and social platforms on August 13 and 14.
Independence Day Awards will be given to individuals and institutions for contributions in education, health, and social welfare. Sports tournaments including cricket, football, volleyball, and hockey will be held across all districts from August 12 to 14. A mega sports event is scheduled in Peshawar.
A cleanliness drive will run from August 7 to 14, especially targeting tourist spots. All departments and the public have been asked to cooperate for successful execution of Independence Day events in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
