KMC Parking Charges Waived – Complete Details Inside!

If you’re tired of paying parking fees in Karachi, here’s some good news! Karachi Mayor Barrister Murtaza Wahab just announced that no fees will be charged at parking sites under the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC). This decision comes as a big relief for citizens and aims to make life easier in the busy port city.

KMC Parking Fees Removed for Public Convenience

In a statement on Sunday, Murtaza Wahab declared that parking fees at KMC-controlled sites would be completely abolished. He emphasized that this move is for the public interest, as KMC has achieved financial stability.

With more than Rs2 billion in its account, KMC no longer needs to collect Rs40-50 million in parking fees. This decision follows record-breaking revenue of Rs2.3 billion in just seven months, marking a 300% increase in earnings. The mayor also revealed that 751 development projects are currently underway across Karachi.

Parking Fees to Be Abolished at 46 KMC Sites

The mayor clarified that parking fees will not be charged at 46 parking sites located on 106 main roads of Karachi. However, parking fees will still apply in:

  • 6 cantonment board areas
  • 25 towns of Karachi

To prevent illegal parking charges, Wahab assured that strict action will be taken against those charging fees under KMC’s name, and violators will face arrests.

Ban on Dumpers in Karachi

In another major decision, the Sindh government has banned dumpers during the daytime due to a rise in fatal accidents involving heavy vehicles.

  • New timing for dumpers in Karachi: Allowed entry from 11 PM to 6 AM only
  • Reason: Recent increase in deadly accidents involving dumpers

These steps aim to improve Karachi’s traffic management and enhance public safety.

The removal of KMC parking fees is a huge relief for Karachi residents. With improved financial stability, KMC is now focusing on public convenience rather than revenue collection. Additionally, the new ban on dumpers during the day is a much-needed step to reduce accidents and traffic congestion in the city.
