In Karachi’s KMC sports complex on Kashmir Road, Mayor Murtaza Wahab cut the ribbon for the newly built swimming pool. The project cost 150 million rupees and turned the old site into a modern facility that the city needed before the upcoming sports season. Officials explained, they installed a digital water quality monitoring system, an electronic filtration system and an advanced drainage network.
The mayor took a moment to address the recent tragic NIPA chowrangi manhole incident in the city. He spoke with a heavy tone and shared his grief with the affected family. He said he would take action against everyone responsible. The atmosphere shifted, but he returned to his point about how the Pakistan Peoples Party plans to support sports facilities in Karachi.
Earlier this year, there was uncertainty about where major swimming events would take place. The KMC Sports complex swimming pool now provides athletes with a venue that meets required standards. The city hopes it will serve both training and public use.
KMC Sports Complex Swimming Pool Ticket Price
The current public entry fee reported by users and local community sources stands around Rs 500 per session. Officials have not yet released a formal fee chart after the upgrade, so this rate still guides most visitors at the KMC Sports complex.
