ISLAMABAD: Election Commission of Pakistan
( ECP ) will announced Caretaker CM for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Today, Tuesday.
The decision will be made by the ECP after the parliamentary committee to decide caretaker CM failed to reach consensus.
A meeting to finalize a name for the caretaker CM is underway in the electoral body.
The former government has forwarded two names for interim post, they are bureaucrats Himayatullah Khan and Ejaz Ahmed Qureshi.
Former provincial opposition leader Maulana Lutfur Rehman proposed the names of businessperson Manzoor Khan Afridi and Justice (retd) Dost Muhammad.
Election Commission confirmed it received all the recommendations from both the parties.
Three representatives each from the former government government and opposition party JUI-F were present in the meeting. The parliamentary committee to decide a caretaker CM for KP had the meeting on June 2 at the KP House in Islamabad.
Earlier on, ANP leader Sardar Hussain Babak raised reservations against the committee’s formation. He said that neither the government nor the opposition had taken consultation from other parties to form the committee.
Sindh’s caretaker CM Fazlur Rehman has already assumed his post after taking oath at the Governor House. Governor Sindh Muhammad Zubair administered the oath to Fazlur Rehman.
