In a significant move towards inclusivity, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has announced an exemption of test fees for differently-abled candidates participating in all Educational Testing and Evaluation Agency (ETEA) examinations.
The decision was taken during a pivotal meeting of the ETEA Board of Governors, chaired by the Caretaker Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Justice Retired Syed Arshad Hussain Shah. The board underscored its commitment to providing equal opportunities for differently-abled individuals and outlined plans to streamline the process.
As part of the initiative, a committee, led by Provincial Minister Justice (R) Arshad Qaisar, has been established to formulate effective procedures for the disposal of mobile phones confiscated from candidates during ETEA tests. This committee will meticulously examine the legal and technical aspects of the matter, presenting comprehensive recommendations for implementation.
The meeting also delved into measures to curb cheating during board exams and ETEA tests. A noteworthy decision was made to incorporate new technologies aimed at preventing malpractices. Additionally, stringent actions are slated against those found aiding candidates in cheating during examinations.
