Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Government officers have pledged to contribute their three-day salary to the reserves for the development of Diamer-Bhasha and Mohmand dams.
Amid a hearing a week ago, the Supreme Court had observed that water assets were critical for survival and ordered the experts to take prompt and powerful measures to construct two dams — Diamer-Bhasha and Mohmand.
Moreover, the SC had appealed referring overall public, including overseas Pakistanis, to give in for the funds-collections initiated to make the two Dams.
Following, Punjab interim Chief Minister Hasan Askari donates Rs0.5million for the reserve. “The development of Diamer-Bhasha dam is critical for Pakistan,” he stated, including that the country ought to effectively take interest in raising amounts for the development of the dam.
Thusly, the Ministry of Finance on Thursday opened an account under the title of “DIAMER-BHASHA AND MOHMAND DAM FUND – 2018”.
the account was opened in pursuance of the Supreme Court’s order to the federal government, Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA), and the executive authority to take effective measures in light of unanimous decisions of the Council of Common Interests (CCI) to develop the 4,500MW Bhasha dam and 700MW Mohmand dam.
Yesterday, ISPR announced that soldiers of Pakistan Armed forces realize the need for building the dam in light of the future shortage of water. This will be the contribution from Pakistan’s military for the construction of dams.
Furthermore, On Saturday, the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) management requested its staff to donate in funds for the developments of dams.
