Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur has officially launched two flagship initiatives – the Roshan Mustaqbil Card for orphaned children and the Sahara Card KPK for widows. The launch event took place at the Chief Minister’s House in Peshawar on Monday.
Benefits of Roshan Mustaqbil Card KPK
These welfare programmes are part of the provincial government’s commitment to supporting vulnerable segments of society. Under the Roshan Mustaqbil Card, orphans between the ages of 5 to 16 years will receive a monthly stipend of Rs 5,000. As a special Eid-ul-Adha gesture, each eligible child will get Rs 10,000 for the months of May and June. In the initial phase, the programme will benefit around 9,000 orphaned children across KPK.
Sahara Card KPK Benefits
The Sahara Card KPK designed to offer financial relief to widows who lack stable income or social support. While the government has yet to disclose the exact stipend amount under the Sahara Card, officials confirmed it will help thousands of women across the province.
Chief Minister Gandapur, while distributing the first batch of Roshan Mustaqbil Cards and Sahara Cards, reiterated his government’s dedication to improving the lives of those most in need. He highlighted that these initiatives are just the beginning, and more welfare projects are in the pipeline to promote social protection and economic stability in the region.
The event attended by Provincial Minister for Social Welfare Syed Qasim Ali Shah, members of the provincial assembly, senior government officials, and several dignitaries.
These new welfare cards—Roshan Mustaqbil Card for orphans and Sahara Card KPK for widows expected to not only offer immediate financial relief but also contribute to long-term human development by supporting education, health, and basic needs.
