Lahore is set to celebrate Basant this year on February 6, 7, and 8. The government has already put in place safety precautions such as controlled manufacture of kite strings, static motorcycle rods. Also, the Punjab Home Department has initiated the registration of kite makers and associations to make the event safe and organized throughout the city.

The government of Punjab has officially announced the Lahore Basant date 2026. The festival will be held on February 6, 7, and 8, with strict safety rules. The meeting, which included the schedule and preventive measures, was chaired by senior Minister Maryam Aurangzeb.
The Basant 2026 in Lahore will involve a strict enforcement of safety rules by the authorities. Protective rods will be fitted to all motorcycles and kite strings, or doris, will be made at special places. Unsafe or chemical-coated strings will be prohibited to protect citizens with its production and sale.
In order to ensure kite flying is safe and organized, the Punjab Home Department has begun to register kite makers, sellers and kite flying associations. The registration ensures the safety standards and adequate supervision before the Basant date in Pakistan 2026.
Authorities underline that the actions are supposed to allow Lahore residents to enjoy Basant 2026 accident-free. These factors, safe kite string manufacturing, controlled spaces of safe flying, and security measures taken to protect motorcycles, mean that the festival is still an amusing and controlled event.
