Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Lahore, Amara Athar, revealed that all driving licence offices across Punjab will be closed for several days to facilitate an upgrade of the licence system. This temporary closure will affect all services, including the issuance of learner permits, renewals, new licences, and international licences.
The shutdown will commence at 5 pm on May 23 and continue until 3 pm on May 27. During this period, no driving licences will be processed. Citizens are advised to plan accordingly and visit the licence offices after 3 pm on May 27.
CTO Lahore emphasized that e-licenses will remain valid throughout the upgrade, and no traffic tickets will be issued to holders of e-licenses during the closure. This measure aims to ensure a smooth transition and minimize inconvenience for the public.
