Lahore Driving License Test Update: Candidates Can Retake Test After 15 Days

In a significant update for aspiring drivers in Lahore, the city’s Chief Traffic Officer (CTO), Amara Athar, has announced a major policy change regarding driving license tests. Candidates who fail their driving license road test will now have the opportunity to retake the test after just 15 days, a significant reduction from the previous 42-day waiting period.

This new policy aims to streamline the licensing process, making it easier and more convenient for candidates to obtain their driving licenses. CTO Amara Athar emphasized that this facility already available for the sign test, and now it has been extended to the road test as well.

Amendment to Punjab Motor Vehicle Rules 1969

The new policy is part of an amendment to the Punjab Motor Vehicle Rules 1969. According to CTO Amara Athar, this amendment designed to save citizens valuable time and ensure a smoother, more efficient process for obtaining a driving license.

“Candidates who fail both the sign and road tests can now retake the test after 15 days,” CTO Amara Athar stated. This change expected to alleviate the frustration of long waiting periods that many candidates previously faced.

Maintaining Transparency and Merit

CTO Amara Athar also highlighted the importance of maintaining transparency in the licensing process. All test videos, including those for both road and sign tests, recorded and securely stored. This ensures that the system operates on merit, giving every candidate a fair chance.

The recent changes to the driving license test process in Lahore anticipated to be a welcome relief for candidates, making the journey to obtaining a driving license more user-friendly and efficient.
