In the recent electoral showdown in NA-127 Lahore, Ata Tarar of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) secured a resounding victory, outshining Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari.
With unofficial results pouring in, Tarar’s tally stood strong at 98,210 votes, showcasing a remarkable lead over his contenders. Following closely behind was Malik Zaheer Abbas Khokhar, supported by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), with 82,230 votes. Bilawal Bhutto Zardari trailed in third place, securing 15,005 votes.
This victory adds to the recent triumph of PML-N in the region, as earlier, party supremo Nawaz Sharif secured victory in the NA-130 Lahore constituency. Sharif’s win, with 107,124 votes, marked a significant achievement for the party, surpassing PTI-backed candidate Yasmin Rashid, who secured 101,524 votes.
The consecutive victories of PML-N candidates in Lahore reflect a continued stronghold in the political landscape of the region, showcasing the party’s enduring support base and leadership prowess.
